After more than 35 years as a full-time real estate broker, I’ve seen the ebbs and flows of Florida’s new-home market firsthand. August brought a notable uptick: 7,842 new-home permits were issued statewide—a 28% increase from July—representing close to $2.9 billion in construction value. It’s interesting to see Tampa and Southwest Florida leading the charge with over half of these permits, while Southeast Florida stands out for the highest average permit value. These patterns offer valuable insights for buyers and sellers looking to navigate our dynamic market.
